-Commends Proposed College For Quality Infrastructure, Staff
The Akwa Ibom State Nursing and Midwifery Committee has visited and commended the management of proposed Sure Foundation College of Nursing Sciences, Ukanafun, over the state of infrastructure and quality of staff in the institution.
Giving the commendation during the Committee’s inspection visit to the institution, Friday, August 15, the chairman of the Committee and Director of Nursing Services in Akwa Ibom State, Mrs Patricia Etim, disclosed that the team was impressed with the state of infrastructure and quality of staff in the school, observing that the college will be a huge addition to nursing education in the state.
“I want to thank the Management Board for all the effort they have put into making sure that this college becomes a reality with a state-of-the-art -facilities and equipment. We were sent here on a mission by the Nursing and Midwifery Council of Nigeria; we have come and we have seen,” Mrs Etim said.
While further commending the management of the institution, the Committee Chairman said “The structures are quite beautiful. You have invested so much financially and otherwise to bring out what we have seen here today. I want to say thank you for the job well-done”.
Earlier in his brief remarks, the Chairman of the college Governing Council, Mr. Ndianaabasi Udom noted that the institution was conceived and birthed to add value to nursing education in Akwa Ibom and Nigeria as well, adding that the school is poised to become a pace-setter in the country by providing the best learning experience for the students.
Mr Udom assured the Committee that despite the infrastructure, human resources and other facilities already put in place, the management was still working to bring a lot more in order to position the school as a choice destination for nursing education in the country, thanking the Committee for the advisory visit, which he noted will help facilitate the needed approvals.
During the visit, the Committee inspected facilities like classrooms, demonstration room, auditorium, staff room, common room, laboratories, sick bay, male and female hostels, among others. The Committee expressed satisfaction with most of the facilities while making recommendations for more improvement in some areas.
